Our speaker for October was Dr. Isaac Brundage, Chico State’s Vice President for Student Affairs. Dr. Brundage brings more than 20 years of senior-level higher education experience to the role. He comes to Chico State from Western New Mexico University (WNMU), where he served as the vice president of student affairs and enrollment management for 10 years. In this role, he integrated the university with the surrounding communities and increased enrollment. Prior to his position at WNMU, he served as director of community outreach, university ombudsman, and assistant to the president at Florida Gulf Coast University, where he oversaw campuswide efforts to increase student enrollment and retention, especially for underserved and underrepresented populations. His experience also includes serving as director of housing and residence life at Florida A&M University. Brundage holds doctorate, specialist, and master of education degrees from Florida Gulf Coast University. His bachelor’s in biology/education was earned at Florida A&M University. Prior to beginning his higher education career, he worked as a K–12 science teacher.
